The App is designed around a single principle: client records, formulas, and photos never leave your device. "Personal information" in this policy refers to personal information as defined under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and applicable laws.
Our core principle (privacy first)
In the App, recording client charts, saving color formulas, and storing treatment photos all happen entirely on your device. None of this content is sent to our servers or to any cloud, and the App has no cloud sync feature.
The only data we handle off the device falls into two categories: (1) anonymous usage data used to improve the App's quality (Section 3), and (2) information needed to process and manage in-app purchases (Section 4). The App also lets you share data yourself (CSV export and Style Cards), but that is initiated by you, not sent automatically by us (Section 5).
Information stored only on your device
The following is stored in an on-device database and is not sent to us or to any third party:
- Client information (name, phonetic reading, and notes such as allergies)
- Treatment records (date, treatment type, base level, gray percentage, fade notes, and handover notes for the next visit)
- Formula details (product names, shade codes, grams, developer strength, and processing time)
- Treatment photos (before/after; resized on-device before saving)
- My Shelf (the list of color products you use)
Information we collect (usage analytics)
To improve the App's quality, we collect anonymous usage data through Firebase Analytics (Google LLC). We collect only "facts about actions" and never the contents of your charts or formulas.
3.1 What we collect
- Feature events (for example: a client was registered / a formula chart was saved / a CSV was exported / a paywall was shown / a purchase completed, failed, or was restored)
- Metadata attached to each event (the kind of action, counts, on/off flags, type tokens, and purchase price and currency)
- User properties (free vs. paid, plan type, and the "band" of how many clients are registered)
- General usage statistics that Firebase collects by default, such as app launches, sessions, device type, OS version, and app version
3.2 What we never collect
- Client names, phonetic readings, allergy or treatment notes
- Formula contents such as product names, shade codes, or grams
- Treatment photos
- Search queries or other content you enter
In-app purchases and subscriptions
The App is free to use. Some features (removing the limit on the number of registered clients, CSV export, and more) are available with the paid "Pro" plan (a subscription).
- Payment details: Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Payment details such as credit card numbers are handled by Apple; we do not receive them.
- Subscription status: To manage and verify your plan (active/inactive and plan type), we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.). RevenueCat receives an anonymous in-app user ID together with your purchase status (receipt and transaction information). We do not share your name, email address, or other contact details.
- Purchase facts: The fact that a purchase was started, completed, failed, or restored is also recorded as an anonymous event in the usage analytics described in Section 3 (and may include price and currency).
- Advertising measurement (Apple Search Ads): If we run Apple Search Ads, we collect an "attribution token" provided by Apple's AdServices to measure their effectiveness, and share it via RevenueCat. This lets us understand anonymously which ad an install came from and whether it led to a subscription. It uses Apple's privacy-preserving mechanism — it is not the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not require tracking permission (ATT). It contains no personal information such as your name.
Exporting and sharing your data (CSV and Style Cards)
The following features let you take data off the device by your own action. We never send it automatically, and you choose where it goes. Neither passes through our servers.
- CSV export (Pro): Exports all registered clients and all treatment data into a single CSV file, and hands it to the destination you choose in the iOS share sheet (email, AirDrop, saving to Files, and so on). Treatment photos are not included.
- Style Cards: Creates a single image combining before/after photos, the date, and a color swatch, which you can share to social media and elsewhere. The formula (recipe) is not included in the image.
What the App does not collect
The App does not use the following information or capabilities:
- Advertising or ad SDKs, and advertising identifiers such as IDFA
- Sending your data to external AI / machine-learning APIs
- Location, contacts, microphone, or camera
- Full access to your photo library (the App receives only the photos you pick, through the OS photo picker; no permission grant is required)
- Push or local notifications (the App sends no notifications at all)
- Account registration (email address, password, or social sign-in — the App works without an account)
The App never shows a permission prompt for location, photos, or anything else.
Third-party services (disclosure and processors)
We use the following external services to the extent necessary to provide and improve the App:
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): anonymous usage analytics
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.): subscription status management and advertising attribution processing
- Apple (App Store / Search Ads): app distribution, payment processing, and Search Ads attribution (AdServices)
International transfer
Some of the external services above operate servers outside Japan (for example, in the United States). As a result, usage data and subscription status may be processed and stored outside Japan. We handle such data appropriately in accordance with applicable laws.
Security
Keeping your primary data — client records, formulas, and photos — on the device is itself the most reliable safeguard. Analytics data sent off the device contains no record content, is anonymized, and is transmitted over encrypted connections. In the unlikely event of a leak involving information we handle, we will work to confirm the facts, investigate the cause, prevent recurrence, and take the steps required by law.
Retention and deletion
On-device data is retained for as long as you use the App. You can delete individual clients and charts at any time from within the App, and uninstalling the App erases all on-device data.
Copies of data taken off the device via CSV export or Style Cards are managed by you at their destination (email, cloud storage, social media, and so on). Please delete them at the destination when no longer needed.
The usage analytics we collect is retained for as long as necessary to achieve its purpose, and is appropriately deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
Your rights
You may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of the information we handle. On-device data can be deleted from within the App, and subscriptions can be managed or canceled from your device's Settings (your Apple ID subscriptions). For other requests or questions, please contact us using the details below. After verifying your identity, we will respond as promptly as possible in accordance with the law.
Children's privacy
The App is intended for professional use by hair stylists and is not designed to collect personal information from a specific age group. No account registration is required, and record content stays on the device. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy in response to changes in laws or the service. If there are significant changes, we will announce them on this page or on our website.
